Painting Times!!

Well I'm back!! Things are good. I've been busy this week!! I've painted 4 murals with some help from a team from Syracuse. They were incredible and a huge encouragement! The Lord has been teaching me alot about pride this week... and it's only the beginning. Life is good. I got my hair braided the other day and now I'm ready to rip it out! haha! This weekend we get a getaway weekend which is where we get to relax for a little bit. But I must go or I'll miss dinner at my house!!

Life So Far

First of all i'm typing on a french keyboard so forgive me if there is a typo. I'm in my village and house!! I live in the village of N'Gor. Leah and I are living in the chief's house..... along with about 15 other people...no exaggeration! Life is good.. a little boring...slow. During the day we sit, talk, watch tv, help cook, and play with the kids. We've really befriended 2 of the ladies: May and Aida..they both speak english which is helpful. Next Monday I start my painting projects! So thats good. I miss ya'll alot(thats right i have my accent back!! ha) and i can definately feel the prayers. Keep them comin....these people are so lost and its heartbreaking.

I'm Here!!

Well friends I made it. I'm in Dakar in a little cyber cafe. Good times. The flights went well....waiting in Casablanca was a loooong time but that's okay. Right now we're staying in the Baptist guesthouse and there's showers and running water!! :D Later in the week, we'll be placed in different villages. I'm going to be moving around a little bit because each village needs different art. I think I'll be staying at the guesthouse to paint a mural first and then I'll move on from there.
Today we learned greetings, how to talk with the taxi guy, and how to buy things in the market. It's definately challenging for me as some of you know, I'm not the greatest with languages. Anyway, next I'm going to learn to use the telecentre....the telephone. So, I'm off!!

Love, love, love,
Jenny
P.S. Thanks to everyone for all the prayers...keep on keepin on!!

It's Time

Well friends, I'm off to Africa in less than 24 hours. I'm so excited about what the Lord is going to do and what He's already doing! Words cannot describe my level of excitedness!! AHHH!!
I would ask for some prayer....alot in fact. Here are some ways:
-The Lebou People-that they may come to know their Savior Jesus Christ and grow in His Word
-Our Team- morale and our "kinship" will come immediately; that stress will not be a factor; health
-Travel-safe travels if it's in the Lord's Will

Thank you all for your prayers and support. I'll update soon I hope!

Love love love,
Jenny

Preparation

It's one week and counting..... I am about to encounter on a great adventure. I'm going to Africa......to live basically...well for 2 months anyway. I've gotten several emails from my supervisor about preparation......and how it's not really anything I can do at all....nothing except of course surrender. This is what I must do. I must give to the Lord all of my luxories...which really isn't that hard for me...that's another thing I have to give up: PRIDE. nasty thing...it's gotta go. I have to give A/C and running water. But, most importantly, I have to give up me and how I want to do things: nothing good will come of that.

"We always carry around in our body the death of Jesus, so that the life of Jesus may also be revealed in our body." 2 Cor. 4:10

"Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful. And pray for us, too, that God may open a door for our message, so that we may proclaim the mystery of Christ, for which I am in chains. Pray that I may proclaim it clearly, as I should. Be wise in the way you act toward outsiders; make the most of every opportunity. Let your conversation be always full of grace, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how to answer everyone." Col. 4:2-6
